The Order of Akara is an order dating back to 349 BA, during which events took place that led to the founding by Ti'lan Akara. The Order focuses on exploration, mapping, and learning to work with others of the Order. Members bear a rose, as has been the custom since the day the Order was created. In Puddleby, those who had been members on the mainland are given a chance to celebrate that membership without the fear of the Emperor. The Order of Akara is always open to those who agree with its ideals and wish to become a part of it.

349 BA: The Second Unification War

As the first waves of humans, led by Forthar McFearson, advanced upon the borders of the People, there was a great loss of life among the fen. One of these was Atšlan Akara, mother of Tišlan Akara, a young fen practiced in the fighting arts. Tišlan bore the body of his mother to their home, burying her and leaving a rose in her memory. Before returning to fight back the humans, he took an oath over his dead mothers grave to avenge her death. As the young Fen fought in countless battles, he observed that the People, being outnumbered by humans, were forced to rely on each other in order to survive. Battles were won with cooperation, lost with disunity. Tišlan, using this knowledge gained, soon rose to a position of leadership over a small, cohesive, and powerful group of Fen. Relying their own strength and that of their comrades, the Fen were able to achieve significant victories over McFearsonšs armies. Finally, at the Battle of Norlšehhran, the human advance was turned back by the strength of the People.

After the treaty was signed, Tišlan and his friends travelled to the home of the Fen, to pay respects to Atšlan Akara after the war was won. To the surprise of Tišlan, the rose which he had placed upon the grave was as bright and alive as when he had picked it. Interpreting it as a sign of approval, Tišlan took the rose and carried it with him in his travels. The gathered People, at the home of Tišlan, founded The Order of Akara, swearing themselves to the ideals of the Order and each other. Each member bore a red rose, similar to that of Tišlan.

326 BA: The Second Peace

In this time of peace, The Order of Akara was not idle. The Order turned itšs attentions to exploring and peacemaking, doing whatever good they were able. The founders of the order grew old and passed away, but there were always new members to take their places. People of all races joined the Akarans, further strengthening the Order.

Members of the Order travelling abroad established chapters in the lands they traversed, as a means of providing a widespread network of aid and support for fellow Akarans. However, these chapters soon earned the respectof the local populations and the Order's membership increased tremendously, incorporating different races and varied backgrounds.
